A 17-year-old was taken to an Indianapolis hospital after being cut with a knife while playing with a friend.
The teen and a 15-year-old friend were pretending to sword-fight at his home in 1100 block of Hospital Road in Franklin on Thursday. The teenager had an MP3 music player, and the friend had a folding knife. While playing, the friend accidentally cut the teen’s arm with the knife, said Lt. Kerry Atwood with Franklin police.
The knife cut an artery in the teenager’s arm and also caused possible nerve damage, Atwood said. He was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital for possible surgery, Atwood said.
A hospital representative could not confirm whether the teenager was admitted to the hospital or release any information about his condition.
Police determined the stabbing was an accident, and no arrests were made, Atwood said.
