Student tutoring group looking for volunteers

A group that organizes tutors for Franklin community elementary schools and intermediate school is recruiting new volunteers.

Study Connection, a program of Franklin Education Connection, matches adult Study Buddies with students in Grades 2 to 6 to help students achieve academic standards.

The program operates from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Webb Elementary School or 3 to 4 p.m. at Custer Baker Intermediate School on Wednesdays; and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays at all other elementary schools.

A training session will be conducted from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Northwood Elementary School.

Applicants must complete an application and pass a criminal background check before being accepted into the program.
