Senior Connor Morris stole a potential victory from visiting Plainfield on Friday night.

The 5-foot-8 guard grabbed three steals in the game’s final 2½ minutes, including one with six seconds remaining, that helped secure a 69-65 win for Greenwood’s boys basketball team.

In snapping their own six-game losing streak, the Woodmen (2-13) also broke a streak of five consecutive losses to the Quakers (1-15).

“Morris just wouldn’t let us lose,” said Greenwood coach Bruce Hensley, who saw his team win its second Mid-State Conference game of the season. “We played with a will to win tonight.”
