St. Francis Health offers free seminar about atrial fibrillation

Franciscan St. Francis Health will host a free seminar on a life-threatening heart condition Feb. 19 at the White River Library.

Cardiologist Dr. John Moore III of the Franciscan St. Francis Heart Center will discuss new medications, treatments and approaches to diagnosis for atrial fibrillation. The condition occurs when the heart beats irregularly at a high rate that can lead to heart failure and stroke.

Moore will explain what happens to a heart with atrial fibrillation and how cardiologists and surgeons work together to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
