American Senior Communities will conduct the Senior and Family Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Community Hospital South, 1402 E. County Line Road South.
The community is invited to attend the free event.
Free health screenings will be offered, including blood pressure checks, lipid/glucose screening, oxygen level testing, hearing checks and much more. Fasting is recommended (only water the morning of the test), but not required.
The health fair will honor veterans who will be saluted at 9 a.m. by a special color guard presentation. Several booths will offer information and resources for veterans.
Information and demonstrations will cover aroma therapy, benefits of vitamin D, weight management, senior moving and downsizing, rehabilitation, Alzheimer’s disease and much more.
The health fair will also include a special session on heart disease, “What You Need to Know About Heart Disease,” presented at 9:30 a.m. by Dr. Karamachand Paul, senior executive medical director at Community Health Network.
There will also be a session at 11 a.m. called “Assess Your Financial Future.”
