Rotary hog roast benefits county food drives

Follow Daily Journal:

County residents can grab lunch at a hog roast and help feed the hungry.

The Franklin Rotary Club will host the Jim Rhoades Memorial Hog Roast on Dec. 5 in Scott Hall at the Johnson County fairgrounds, 250 Fairground St., Franklin.

Lunch will be available 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Catering will be provided by Malone Catering in Greenwood.

Lunch is free, but donations will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Johnson County Good Cheer Fund and Interchurch Food Pantry.

Dine in or carryout will be available.

The event is named in memory of longtime Franklin resident Jim Rhoades, who started the event more than 15 years ago.

Rhoades, a Franklin Rotary member, owned Rhoades True Value Hardware in Franklin and was a former Johnson County commissioner.
