All this week, the Holiday Inn in Greenwood has been home to all the workers who transformed a building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds into a venue for Super Bowl concerts.

The hotel was rented out largely by contractors who helped stage the Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam concerts for VH1 and CMT, front desk manager Melissa Jennings said. They laid carpeting, built a stage and set up huge television monitors at the Pepsi Coliseum.

They turned the sometimes-hockey rink into a venue for nationally televised concerts that will feature such acts as Gym Class Heroes, B.o.B. and Carrie Underwood.

The arena got a new look that included permanent seats and two tiers of decks. New Jersey-based Dimitri Carpet LLC installed more than 5,000 square feet of carpeting, contractor Zach Parisis said.
