Krista Boyd is a senior at Center Grove Alternative Academy. She also takes medical assisting classes at Central Nine Career Center and has perfect attendance for her entire school career.
Reporter Magen Kritsch recently asked her the following questions:
How did you get perfect attendance?
My parents set a great example for me by always encouraging me to go to school even if I wasn’t feeling well. I also wanted to accomplish something I had control of and could be proud of myself for doing.
How did you decide to study medical assisting?
Well, my dad worked with wounded soldiers in the military and that inspired me. I love helping people.
Describe your morning routine.
I wake up, let my dogs outside, take a shower, get dressed and head to C9.
If you have an hour of free time, what are you most likely to do?
I’m most likely going to be spending time with family or friends.
What is your favorite website?
Facebook, because I like to catch up with old friends from different (school) districts.
What happened on the best day of your life thus far?
I have had so many great days in my life. It would be hard to pick just one to talk about.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself being self-supporting and stable in a community with a husband and family, as well as furthering my education.
If you won a million dollars, what is the first thing you would buy?
I would buy a home to entertain my family, friends and my little Bichon.
If you had a round-trip ticket to go anywhere, where would you go?
I would love to go to San Francisco. I’ve always wanted to see the view from the Golden Gate Bridge.
