Porch light leads to fight, arrest in Greenwood

Follow Daily Journal:

The direction of a flood light was the apparent catalyst of a fight between neighbors.

Scott Keith, 44, of Greenwood, was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge after he confronted, then hit, his neighbor about his porch light, police said.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 5200 block of South Mt. Pleasant Street about a fight.

A man told the deputy that his neighbor, whom he identified as Keith, had punched him in the face, according to the police report.

The two men got into an argument after Keith came across the street to ask the man to reposition a floodlight on his front porch. The two men began fighting and were wrestling on the ground when Keith punched the man in the face, according to a police report.

The light points outward from the front of the house and can’t be moved in a different direction, according to the police report.

Keith, 5214 S. Mt. Pleasant St., was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail where he was held on $1,000 bond.
