Police investigate vehicle used in armed robbery

Follow Daily Journal:

Police are investigating whether a vehicle used in the armed robbery of an Edinburgh gas station also was used in a grocery store break-in.

Edinburgh Town Marshal Dave Mann believes the vehicle used in the break-in at a grocery store in Ogilville early Saturday also was used in an armed robbery that night at Bonkerz Sunoco, at State Road 252 and Interstate 65.

Devin James Menser, 22, of 110 N. County Road 250E, Columbus, was arrested Monday on charges of burglary and theft, and police believe he was involved in a break-in at the Ogilville grocery store. Police are investigating whether he was involved in the Edinburgh robbery.

At 3:50 a.m. Saturday, surveillance video showed the driver of a white, late-1990s Ford Explorer using the vehicle to push a large wooden church pew through an entrance at Myers Grocery Store. Cigarettes, lottery tickets and cash were taken from the business.

Mann said he believes that night the same vehicle was used when three men robbed an Edinburgh convenience store. One of the men fired a shot when they left in a sport-utility vehicle, but no one was injured.
