Two Franklin businesses were broken into early Friday morning.

Burglars had broken glass doors to get into Family Video, 155 N. Morton Street, and Little Caesars, 906 N. Morton Street.

The cash register at Little Caesars was missing when police arrived at 2:45 a.m., according to the police report. The register was empty at the time, manager Jeff Ehlers told police.

A safe in the back was locked and the burglars did not appear to have gotten inside, according to the report.

Ehlers told police the restaurant’s security cameras were on at the time of the burglary.

At 5 a.m., police arrived at Family Video, where burglars had smashed the glass doors and opened the cash register. The register did not have any money in it at the time of the break-in, assistant manager Jacob Davis told police.

It is not yet known whether anything else was taken from the store, according to the report.

Police are investigating both burglaries.
