Police found an underage drinking party in Greenwood while looking for a runaway teen Monday morning.
The 17-year-old girl went to a home in the 1000 block of Stonegate Road, where sheriff’s deputies found her. Police found a party at the house and made seven arrests, according to a sheriff’s office report. Greenwood police had been to the house previously for an underage drinking party, the report said.
Police arrested five underage adults and two teens at the party who tested positive for alcohol.
A girl who was on probation was taken to a hospital before being taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center. Police took her to the hospital because she had been drinking, and a doctor had to verify she was healthy enough to be taken to the detention center, Greenwood Police Department Assistant Chief Matt Fillenwarth said.
A sheriff’s deputy found the runaway teen at the home. A breath test showed her blood-alcohol content was .08 percent. She also was taken to the county juvenile detention center.
Police also arrested the following on a charge of possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor:
Austin James, 19, 711 Nicklaus Drive, Greenwood; Trevor Payne, 19, 884 Nottingham Lane, Greenwood; Da’Juan Myers, 19, 884 Nottingham Lane, Greenwood; Kylie Cowell, 18, 5473 Wakefield Road, Greenwood; and Rachel Wells, 19, 4801 Krestridge Court, Bargersville.
Their bond amounts were not available Monday.
