An Indianapolis man was arrested after police said he drank alcohol and drove a vehicle with his 5-year-old daughter inside.
James Ryan McHale, 34, 4926 Kingsley Drive, was arrested on charges of neglect of a dependent and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle cross the center line three times while driving south on State Road 37 in Greenwood on Sunday evening. A caller also reported possibly impaired driving.
A breath test showed McHale’s blood-alcohol content at 0.16 percent, which is twice the legal limit for operating a vehicle, the report said. He told police that he had drank at a football game more than an hour before he left, the report said.
McHale was released from the Johnson County jail on $6,000 bond.
