One man was arrested and police are looking for at least three others after a Center Grove area resident reported someone stole his vehicle and shot at him.
About 5 a.m. Saturday, a resident in the 3100 block of Buckmoor Parkway saw someone steal his black Honda Pilot. The man ran outside, called police, got into another vehicle and chased after a red Dodge Charger that had driven away from his home, according to a police report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The Charger stopped shortly after, and four men got out and ran away. The resident told police he heard what sounded like a gunshot and believed one of the men shot at him, and he went back home, the report said. Police found the Charger had been reported stolen from Westfield.
The man was not injured.
A deputy responding to the call saw a man running away from a Honda Pilot in a nearby shopping center. He called for a police dog, who later found the man police believe fled on the back porch of a nearby home, the report said.
Police arrested Lemickol Dante Thomas, 21, 2944 Hillside St., Indianapolis, on charges of residential entry, theft, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and resisting police. He was taken to the Johnson County jail, and is being held on $8,000 bond, according to a police report. He did not have a gun, Cox said.
Just after 9 a.m. a resident reported their vehicle stolen in the 1900 block of Pheasant Way, located about two miles away from Buckmoor Parkway. Police believe the vehicle was stolen by one of the men that fled, Sheriff Doug Cox said.
Police are searching for the other men, Cox said.
