A Franklin man was arrested after a woman told police he dragged her out of her car and attacked her after they met at a bar. Ralph Tyrone Davis, 30, was arrested on charges of criminal deviate conduct, criminal confinement, battery and theft.
The woman was naked when she ran to a stranger’s house, and she banged on the door yelling for help.
The resident gave her a blanket to wrap herself with and called police, according to a police report.
The woman told police Davis attacked her. She had bruises and scrapes on her leg and bruises on her arms, and was treated and released at Community Hospital South.
The woman told police she had talked to Davis outside a Franklin bar Saturday night and he asked her to drive him to a motel south of the city.
At the motel, Davis tried to get the woman to go inside with him and she declined. He asked her to drive him to another motel and then to a home on Greensburg Road where he said he lived, the report said.
The woman told police that Davis then gave her a hug and tried to unfasten her seat belt and drag her out of the car. She tried to drive in reverse while fighting off Davis, but he fought with her and tried to turn the car off, possibly breaking her key, police said.
Davis dragged her to a small building, where they continued to fight for about an hour and he tried to rape her, she told police.
At one point Davis held her by the neck, the police report said.
When he left to get a drink, the woman ran away, naked, to a nearby house where she banged on the door and begged for help, and the resident called the police, the report said.
Police found Davis in the lobby of a hotel in Franklin, and he had the woman’s credit card and cellphone, Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said. Investigators do not know yet if Davis tried to use the credit card or phone, he said.
Davis, 1788 E. Jefferson St., was being held at the Johnson County jail on $27,000 bond.
