Police: Cloned credit card used in county

Follow Daily Journal:

Franklin police want to talk to a man and woman as part of a credit card fraud investigation.

A cloned credit card, or a card made with another person’s credit card number on it, was used in Edinburgh, Franklin, Greenwood and Whiteland. In Franklin, the fraudulent credit card was used to spend more than $1,200, mostly on gift cards, Franklin Detective Adam Joseph said.

The credit card was used five times throughout Johnson County, and the police department has surveillance photos of a couple they want to talk to.

“We have reason to believe that they’re involved. We don’t know who they are, (or) the level of involvement,” Joseph said.

People with information on who the man and woman are should call Joseph at 346-1145.
