Whatever uneasiness or sense of déjà vu Bill Zych might have experienced regarding the Center Grove High School gymnasium has long since passed.

After resigning as the Trojans’ boys basketball coach in 2004 following a 12-year run, Zych resurfaced at Shelbyville for one season (2006-07) before coaching another three at Perry Meridian (2007-10).

Zych is now in his fourth season as Pike’s head coach. He’s enjoyed tremendous success on Indianapolis’ northwest side, having won 65 of 82 games (.793), three consecutive sectionals and a trip to the 2012 Class 4A state championship game.
