Participants sought for pain-relief study

Follow Daily Journal:

Franciscan St. Francis Health is participating in a clinical trial for an injection to relieve sciatica-related leg and back pain.

Performed as an outpatient procedure, the drug is injected into the epidural space as an extended release treatment.

To be considered for the study, patients must be older than 18, experience primarily leg pain but can also have back pain; have failed conservative therapy (bed rest, physical therapy, medication); and be willing to stop using other medications for treatment.
