A high school foreign exchange organization is looking for local host families who will house foreign students this summer.
Students will arrive before school starts in July. The Council on International Educational Exchange is interested in setting up exchanges with interested families — traditional families with teens, empty-nesters, young couples and singles, both with and without kids.
Hosting is a volunteer endeavor in which families host youth (they choose the student) from another country for a semester or both semesters. They provide the student with a place to sleep and study and work to include the students in their regular activities.
Exchange students bring their own spending money. Students live as American teenagers — attending a local high school, participating in extracurricular activities and sports. During their stay, students give back to the community through service opportunities.
