A health care clinic that focuses on helping uninsured or underinsured patients has moved to Franklin.
WindRose Health Network will host an open house and health fair Sept. 27 at its new office at 55 N. Milford Drive, about a half-mile from Interstate 65.
The first 500 people to show up can get a free flu shot, and people also can get free health screenings.
WindRose moved its doctors and nurses out of an office in Edinburgh at the end of March because most of its patients were coming from Franklin, outreach and community relations director Judy Jacobs said. The company also was getting more requests from patients who needed more pediatric care options in the city, she said.
WindRose also has local offices on County Line Road, in Trafalgar and in Hope, Jacobs said.
The office accepts all insurance plans but primarily focuses on seeing patients who don’t have insurance. Those patients can pay on a sliding fee scale, which is dependent on income and household size and which helps make doctor visits and medications more affordable.
