Follow Daily Journal:

A driver smashed through the wall of a southside Indianapolis apartment complex, but no one in the car or apartment was injured.

Indianapolis police and firefighters responded to the crash at Sycamore Apartment Complex, which is near Stop 11 Road and Madison Avenue.

The driver, who had an infant in the vehicle, smashed through the wall of the building, knocking out a window and about 8 feet of wall in the two-story brick building, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.

The driver, the infant and the residents who were home inside the building were not injured.

No one was arrested, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Lt. Christopher Bailey said. Bailey did not have any information about the driver or how the accident occurred.

The fire department evacuated part of the building while checking the area where the car broke through the wall, according to a fire department report. The car was removed from the building, and the fire department put up some beams to support the walls and prevent any collapses. The second floor was not sagging, and the brick wall was stable, the report said.
