Nineveh driver faces charge following crash

Follow Daily Journal:

A Nineveh man was arrested after he nearly hit another vehicle and then crashed into a utility pole.

William J. Miller, 38, faces a charge of operating while intoxicated.

Another driver, Matthew Limeberry, 29, Greenwood, called police about 5 p.m. Monday to report that a truck swerved into his lane on Nineveh Road. Limeberry had to drive into a ditch to avoid getting hit. The truck went off the road and hit a utility pole, breaking it in half, according to a police report.

Miller told police he had fallen asleep at the wheel and that he drank one beer at his mother’s house, the report said. Miller failed three sobriety tests, and police got blood samples for drug and alcohol testing, the report said.

Miller, 249 W. Roszell Drive, was taken to the Johnson County jail and released on $1,000 bond.
