Andrew Luck’s reputation for being a quick study rivals that of his powerful right arm.
Good thing, since the rookie quarterback has spent more time hitting the books in recent months than hitting receivers — a cycle that won’t end anytime soon.
Within the past seven weeks, he has:
Completed requirements for his college degree.
Squeezed in the Indianapolis Colts’ playbook when time has allowed.
Participated in the Colts’ three-day minicamp.
Gone through commencement ceremonies at Stanford.
And now, it’s back to the books — as in the playbook.
He has roughly a month-and-a-half to take it all in before the Colts open training camp July 28 at Anderson University. The first practice is July 29.
Luck, who missed all of the Colts’ voluntary organized team activities while completing his academic work, vows to be ready.
