A Mooresville man was arrested after a police chase into Morgan County.
Nicholas Dunn, 37, 6757 Centenary Road, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement and driving with a suspended driver’s license, as well as a Marion County arrest warrant.
A Johnson County sheriff’s deputy noticed a motorcycle swerving on State Road 37 at Smith Valley Road. The deputy tried to stop the motorcyclist, but the man didn’t stop, according to a police report.
The sheriff’s deputy then chased the motorcycle for about nine miles. Dunn crashed the motorcycle between his house and garage. Dunn then ran away, jumping over a fence and running south, the report said. The officer then caught up with Dunn, and arrested him. Dunn told the officer he ran away because he had an arrest warrant, the report said.
A breath test showed that Dunn’s blood-alcohol content was 0.11 percent, the report said.
Dunn was being held at the Johnson County jail on $5,000 bond.
