A Martinsville woman was arrested after police said she was driving drunk with her 4-week-old baby in the backseat.
Jessica Baldwin, 28, 1240 E. Morgan St., was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated causing endangerment Friday evening, according to a report by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Police received multiple calls from motorists that noticed Baldwin weaving in and out of traffic on State Road 37. Witnesses told police Baldwin hit a vehicle and forced it off the road near State Road 37 and Stones Crossing Road, the report said.
Baldwin then pulled into a gas station, and customers told police she was inside the store. Police found Baldwin’s infant in the car.
Baldwin failed field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent, the report said. The baby was given to Baldwin’s mother, the report said.
Baldwin was being held in the Johnson County jail on $3,000 bond.
