»Biscuits and gravy breakfast

The Franklin American Legion will host its annual biscuits-and-gravy breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. today at the post, 1200 Park Ave. Donations will be accepted. All proceeds will go to help benefit a veterans organization.

»Greenwood and Whiteland VFWs

Memorial services will be at Greenwood cemeteries today. The service schedule is 9 a.m. at Rocklane, 9:30 a.m. at Greenwood, 10 a.m. at Mount Pleasant, 10:30 a.m. at Olive Branch and 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn.



Army veteran Randy Weathers will speak at 11 a.m. Monday on the courthouse lawn in Franklin.

»Forest Lawn Memory Gardens

White Horse Mounted Patrol from Sioux City, Iowa, will perform at 10:30 a.m. today. Residents also can donate blood at a community blood drive.

»Greenlawn Cemetery

Franklin American Legion is recruiting volunteers to put flags on veterans’ graves at 10 a.m. today. Volunteers are asked to bring their families. A short ceremony and rifle salute will follow, and taps will be played.

»Rocklane Cemetery

Greenwood VFW Post 5864 is looking for volunteers to place flags on veterans’ graves at the Greenwood cemetery at 9 a.m. Monday.
