Follow Daily Journal:

Police have released the names of both men involved in Wednesday's homicide.

The shooter was Kevin Sharrett, 44, of Greenwood. An autopsy this morning confirmed that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, Greenwood Police Assistant Chief Matthew Fillenwarth said.

Steven Lively, 47, of Indianapolis, died of a gunshot wound after police say he was shot at a Greenwood apartment. An autopsy is scheduled later today to determine the precise time of death, Johnson County coroner Craig Lutz said.

Greenwood police found Lively in one of the Devonshire Apartments on State Road 135 in Greenwood with a suspected gunshot wound to the head about 1 p.m. Wednesday. Greenwood police said Lively was dating a woman who lived at the apartment and he was shot by the woman's estranged husband after an argument.

Sharrett died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound more than two hours later after police found him in Marion County and chased him to a house in the 8900 block of Youngs Creek Lane.
