Man says argument led to stabbing in camper

Follow Daily Journal:

Police are investigating the stabbing of a man near Whiteland after a fight at a restaurant.

Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a stabbing at a camper in the 5300 block of N. County Road 300E, near Whiteland, at about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Inside, deputies found the man, who had a half-inch stab wound in the upper left area of his chest, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

The man, who was treated at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, told deputies two men had broken into the camper where he was staying and stabbed him.

The man told deputies had gotten into an argument with the men at a restaurant in Franklin, and threats had been made, but he didn’t take them seriously. He refused to identify the men and said he did not want the sheriff’s office to investigate what had happened, the report said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating, Sheriff Doug Cox said.
