A New Whiteland man was arrested after thousands of dollars in jewelry were taken from an acquaintance’s home and sold, police said.
Nicholas Gary Bowman, 26, was arrested Friday on charges of theft and residential entry.
A Greenwood resident called police to say he thought Bowman had taken jewelry from his home. He called police again Thursday when he saw Bowman in his home without permission, according to a Greenwood Police Department report.
Officers interviewed Bowman, who said he had taken the jewelry and sold it to pawn shops in Greenwood and Indianapolis, the report said.
Police estimate the jewelry was worth more than $9,500, according to the report.
Bowman, 20 Rypma Row, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was being held on $6,000 bond.
