Greenwood police used a Taser while arresting a man after they said he pushed a teenage girl into a wall twice during an argument.
Neil Joseph Beckett, 42, was arrested on two charges of battery, one charge of resisting an officer and one charge of invasion of privacy.
A woman at the house in the 600 block of Carol Drive called police to report that Beckett was beating the 13-year-old girl. Police arrived at the house, and Beckett went into his bedroom.
Officers tried to handcuff him, but he pulled away and would not give them his hands, the police report said. Three officers wrestled with Beckett but could not handcuff him, which prompted them to use a Taser, the report said.
The woman, the girl, Beckett’s son and his son’s girlfriend told police he had been arguing with the woman that night. When she tried to leave he began to follow her.
Beckett’s son and the girl he is reported to have hit stepped between them, and Beckett threw the girl against a wall twice, causing her to hit her head, the report said.
Beckett, 615 Carol Drive, was taken to the Johnson County jail and held without bond.
