A Franklin man was arrested after police said he hit his wife and struggled with his teenage son over a shotgun.
William Herald, 48, of 3476 S. Mauxferry Road, was arrested on charges of battery, domestic battery, criminal recklessness, resisting an officer and intimidation.
Herald’s 19-year-old son told police that he and his father got into a fight Sunday night and he later found his father with the shotgun. He wrestled the shotgun away, the two struggled and the son fired a warning shot through his bedroom window, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.
Herald then pushed his wife against a wall and punched her. She was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital to be checked out. Two other children also were in the home, the report said.
Herald is being held at the Johnson County jail on $11,000 bond.
