Local 4-H volunteers were recognized for their service to the youth organization at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 11.

Among them was Christi Sprinkle of Greenwood, who served for 20 years as a Johnson County volunteer. She is a former 4-H leader for the Hoosier Hotshots and was a 4-H Junior Leader adviser for the past five years.

Jeff Beaman of Franklin was recognized for 25 years of service in the county. He is a former 10-year 4-H member who continues working with the county Junior Leader organization.

Max Fitzpatrick of Whiteland was recognized for 60 years of volunteering. He was active in 4-H as a youth and became an adult 4-H leader of the local tractor club when he was 19. In his 50th year as a 4-H leader, he wrote the 4-H fair management project, which led to the 4-H honor group project. Members are those who reached their last year in 4-H and join together on a fairgrounds service project.
