To the editor:
Kudos to Lori Borgman for her excellent article regarding foster care and the gift of life. She has the courage to speak out on Roe v. Wade, a morally corrupt ruling the people of the United States have allowed for more than 40 years — mothers killing their unborn.
Her contrast of the animal rights activist being for abortion of humans is on target. We’re all the time bombarded with TV commercials for inhumane treatment of animals. What do they think happens during any of the nine months to a baby in an abortion clinic? Lori not only gives facts and statistics on abortion, she speaks of the post-abortion pain and regret that the mothers feel.
I’ve never seen another reporter even go there in a secular paper. I find it ironic Planned Parenthood is the country’s largest provider of abortion, and now, they are offering counseling? I wish she would have mentioned Project Rachel, it’s a nationwide organization for post-abortive women and men that provides counseling. Maybe she could do an article on that sometime.
Lastly I want to thank her for mentioning adoption as being an option to abortion. Twenty-eight years ago we adopted our daughter, because her birth mother chose life for her baby — a choice she and her child could live with. Unfortunately, over the last 40 years, our society has grown more and more apathetic to the value of human life, which can be seen by our TV shows, video games and the killings played out in our nightly news.
I truly feel that the legalization of abortion in this country has led to this downfall. Until we respect human life at all stages, conception to a natural death, and be willing to speak out for rights of the defenseless, our country will continue to spiral downward.
Thank you Lori Borgman, for speaking out.
