Letter: Mistake low-cost, highly frustrating issue

To the editor:

I’m lucky because when the feds screw up it didn’t cost me much. I received a letter from my insurance company with my check for the November premium torn in two with an explanation that the USPS had destroyed it in processing.

I went to the local post office and asked them why, when my return address was clearly visible, why didn’t they return it to me and was told since it happened downtown, they didn’t know.

I then asked if they would at least provide me with a stamp so I could resend a new check and they said no — thus it was a stamp for the insurance company and one for me.

I hope that it isn’t the case with the Affordable Care Act!
