To the editor:
A message to my children and grandchildren:
It’s hard to explain and I sincerely apologize for the financial mess my generation left you. Yes, I know your futures are limited because of it. Our generation wanted to live a higher lifestyle than we and the country could afford.
People and politicians were more than happy to participate. It all seemed so natural at the time and many thought it was fair since some had less than others.
In essence, we partied hard and borrowed and printed more and more money to continue it and now we will soon be gone forever. The main remembrance of our generation is the large national debt we left you that you and your children must now pay. I am so sorry.
