To the editor:

A roundabout at Main Street, Walnut Street and Oliver Avenue? Really!? Is that the best use of limited funds for Franklin streets?

How many accidents really do happen at that intersection?

How would a roundabout affect the in and out traffic at the funeral home and other businesses in the area?

The Village Pantry is a neighborhood grocery which many people depend upon. How many jobs would be lost if it were to be closed?

I should hope that our city officials think long and hard about such a disruption to the neighborhood. A roundabout at that intersection cannot be the best use of limited funds.

Surely the intersection of U.S. 31, Main Street and Westview Drive cries out for some kind of improvement — more so than Main Street, Walnut Street and Oliver Avenue.
