Letter: Area near planned store already congested

To the editor:

Walmart was initially denied permission to build next to Home Depot. Coincidentally, property was then annexed by Greenwood and now conveniently eliminates involvement of the city council.

As usual, Greenwood will also benefit from the commercial taxes, not White River Township. This area is already congested, and the Smith Valley/State Road 135 intersection has been the site of many accidents. That area already has multiple big box stores with good variety.

In my opinion, no modifications to construction/parking requirements should be granted — Walmart should comply. As White River Township residents, are our requests and well-being continuing to be ignored? Greenwood continues to benefit at the expense of White River Township residents. Obviously, White River Township does not want Walmart.
