Three Lawrence County residents were arrested after officers found cash, drugs and needles in their vehicle during a traffic stop on State Road 37.
James Edward Wright, 32, Kaci Leann Wright, 27, and Nicole D. Luallen, 26, were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia during a traffic stop about 1 a.m. Tuesday. The Wrights also were arrested on a charge of theft.
Officers searched the vehicle and found hypodermic needles, a digital scale and a glass smoking pipe. They also found several $100 bills and a stolen camera, the police report said.
Kaci Wright told officers that she, Luallen and James Wright had driven to Indianapolis to buy drugs. Officers found about 15 grams of methamphetamine, 8 grams of heroin and a hypodermic syringe full of liquid methamphetamine.
All three were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. Kaci Wright, of 655 Roberts Lane, Heltonville, was being held on $20,000 bond. James Wright, also of 655 Roberts Lane, Heltonville, was being held on $10,000 bond. Luallen, of 307 19th St., Bedford, was being held on $7,000 bond.
