People can take a walk to help raise money for a youth homeless shelter in the county.

The second “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” event will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 27 at Franklin Community High School, 2600 Cumberland Drive.

The nonprofit KIC-IT (Kids In Crisis – Intervention Team) is sponsoring the event to raise money to purchase and operate a shelter facility for youth in Johnson County.

Organizers of the event are looking for corporate sponsors. The deadline for sponsorship of the event is March 15.

Kids’ activities — including bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, face painting and bean-bag toss games — also will be available. Lunch will be served on site for $3.

Registration for the fun run/walk is $15 before April 13 and $20 after. Participants will receive an event T-shirt, and complimentary snacks and refreshments will be provided.
