Ivy Tech student services director receives award

Rebecca Allen, director of student life/career services at the Franklin campus of Ivy Tech Community College, recently received an award for her work in leadership.

She was named the recipient of the Regional Coordinator Distinguished Service Award at the Phi Theta Kappa international honor society’s recent annual convention in San Jose, Calif.

This award is presented to a retiring regional coordinator who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and service.

Also at the convention, the Columbus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Rho Tau, received the Five Star Chapter Development Recognition, given to chapters that have offered the society’s highest level of programming and activities.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society in higher education, serving two-year colleges around the world.
