Police arrested an Indianapolis man who they said had been having sex with a girl for about three years, starting when she was 12.
George Wiley, 55, was arrested on a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The girl’s mother called Greenwood police in February after she found out Wiley had been having sex with her daughter, who is now a teenager, according to a police report. The girl told police that Wiley had started engaging in sex acts with her at his apartment in Indianapolis when she was 12, the report said.
She told police Wiley had engaged in sex acts with her multiple times at his home in Indianapolis and then six or eight times in Greenwood since March 2013, the report said. The last incident occurred in November, the report said. Wiley bought the girl presents and gave her money after they would have sex, the report said.
Police also interviewed the girl’s brother, who said Wiley had not touched him, the report said.
During the initial investigation, Wiley had attempted to overdose on diabetes medication and was taken to Community Hospital South, the report said.
Police had been searching for Wiley in Marion County for about two months before the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested him, Greenwood Assistant Police Chief Matt Fillenwarth said.
Wiley, 2369 N. Goodlet Ave., was being held in the Marion County Jail without bond.
