An Indianapolis man was arrested after leading a Johnson County Sheriff’s deputy on a brief chase.
Glen Fields, 24, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, fleeing from police, and driving with a suspended license.
A sheriff’s deputy tried to stop Fields at 3:30 a.m. Thursday after he didn’t stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Railroad and County Line roads, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Fields then crossed the median of Railroad Road and almost drove into the grass on the opposite side. The deputy tried to stop the vehicle and Fields sped up. He then pulled into the driveway of a home in the 8700 block Zephyr Drive. After he got out of his car, Fields stumbled trying to open the door to the home and eventually fell over a small decorative fence, the report said.
A test showed Fields had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent, more than two times the legal limit for being considered intoxicated, and he had a suspended license, the report said.
Fields, 8701 Zephyr Drive, is being held in the Johnson County jail on $5,000 bond.
