If there is such a thing as a “Sports Illustrated jinx,” it has yet to affect Indiana’s Cody Zeller.
Zeller, who was christened the nation’s best player by SI, lived up to all the hype, as did No. 1-ranked Indiana (7-0) as a team, in an 83-59 victory against visiting North Carolina on Tuesday night.
“There are a lot of things that Cody does that I’m not sure he has any peers in the country,” said Indiana coach Tom Crean, who talked about Zeller’s ability to find open teammates with the pass while on the dead run. “He is phenomenal at finding people.”
