Thanksgiving is still a couple of weeks away, but it’s not too early to start planning for some traditional Christmas celebrations.

Greenwood-a-Glow, the annual community tree lighting celebration, is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 17.

The event will feature family-friendly activities at the Greenwood Public Library to start off the holidays.

The lighting of the tree will take place at Madison and Main streets, with entertainment provided by local church and school choirs.

The library will host carriage rides, photos with Santa, puppet shows and crafts throughout the evening. Carriage rides will be $2, while photos with Santa will be $1. All proceeds go to benefit the library.

Kids can meet Santa’s reindeer and attend Peewinkle’s Puppet show. Admission is $2 for the show.

For more information visit www.greenwood

All are welcome to this annual event.
