BLOOMINGTON
Name the emotion, and chances are at least one of the athletes from Johnson County experienced it the IHSAA Girls Track and Field State Finals on Friday.
Relief, happiness, heartache and disappointment all made their way to Indiana University’s Robert C. Haugh Complex.
Unfortunately, Indian Creek senior Katie Wise had the market cornered on the latter two. The defending state champion in the 100-meter dash false-started at the beginning of her heat, thus disqualifying herself from her preferred event.
A state finals qualifier all four seasons, Wise later finished fourth in her heat in the 200-meter dash, which failed to advance her to the finals.
