Thank you to the Johnson County Museum of History volunteers, presenters and sponsors who made our annual Heritage Day a great success. We simply couldn’t do it without your hard work and dedication.

Brenna Cundiff, director Johnson County Museum of History

Thank you to all the team players at Hickory Creek at Franklin for making our car wash a big success in giving back to our community. A big thank-you to those who came out in our community and had their vehicles washed and contributed to our fundraiser. Hearts and lots of bubbles, team players.

Hearts to the county officials for the roundabout at the intersection of Fairview and Morgantown roads. No more long lines of waiting traffic. Now who gets the darts for the broken concrete — designers, construction company, heavy vehicles, etc.?

Dr. Dick Huber

Whiteland Elementary School PTO would like to send out giant hearts to the following businesses for supporting our most recent fundraiser: Rascal’s Fun Zone, Kasey’s Pizza Spot, Goodies Cupcakery, Franklin Skate Club and Pizza King Station. Your support is a great incentive for our families and students to participate in the fundraisers, which provide additional technology and equipment in the Whiteland Elementary School classrooms.

Many huge hearts to everyone who participated in the Dining to Donate on Oct. 15 at the Franklin Applebee’s. With your help, we were able to raise $96.10 for Relay for Life. We would also like to thank Applebee’s and their staff for their great service during our event.

The fourth annual Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County Chili Cook-Off on Oct. 13 was a huge success thanks to our sponsors, chili donors, silent auction donors and to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event possible. Winners were: First place, Aunt Judy’s Country Kitchen; second place, Richard’s Kitchen and Market; third place, Ann’s Restaurant. A big thanks to Mount Auburn Methodist Church for allowing us to use their wonderful facility. Attendees also enjoyed our entertainment: The GLADtones Barbershop Quartet and Judy Weise at the piano, the great chili, desserts, drinks and silent auction.
