Greenwood woman held after shot fired at cabin

Follow Daily Journal:

A Greenwood woman was arrested after she reportedly fired a gun at a cabin, police said.

The incident happened in Medora, in Jackson County, on Sunday morning.

Markea R. Waggoner, 46, of Greenwood, was arrested on a charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

No one was injured, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Andy Wayman said.

The bullet struck a board nailed across part of the log cabin’s front door, Wayman said.

The bullet did not enter the home, detective Bob Lucas said.

Before the shooting, a family was having a get-together at the cabin, which is a weekend home, police said.

Detective Rick Blaker said police are not sure what triggered the incident.

Waggoner was taken to the Jackson County jail, where she was being held on $10,005 bond.
