Greenwood is opening up its new digs for residents to check out.
The city is hosting a grand opening of its new city hall at 4 p.m. Aug. 7. At 4:30 p.m., the city will dedicate a clock donated for the new city hall.
Between 4 and 7 p.m., the city will offer building tours at the renovated building at 300 S. Madison Ave. Greenwood departments, such as the mayor’s office, and the chamber where the city council meets, moved into the facility in April from the former city hall at 2 N. Madison Ave.
City officials will be available to answer questions about various projects, including the future aquatic center, downtown revitalization, work to improve the sewer system, such as an initiative to connect sump pumps correctly to stormwater drains, and a land-use plan for property around Worthsville Road.
