A Greenwood woman whose 3-year-old was found wandering outside unsupervised twice in a week was sentenced to a year on probation.
Bunny Bartron, 28, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of neglect of a dependent after being arrested in March. Greenwood police arrested her after her 3-year-old daughter was found wandering outside Westminster Apartments for the second time in a week.
The girl was found outside at 8:30 p.m. in 40-degree weather without a jacket. When police arrived at Bartron’s apartment, she was asleep inside with her husband and son and wasn’t aware the girl had gone outside.
About a week before, the girl was found outside wearing nothing but her underwear. When police arrived at the house,
Bartron told police she had been in the bathroom for about an hour and didn’t realize the girl went outside.
Bartron, 906 London Lane, Apt. 1141, was sentenced to two days in jail, with credit for time served. The rest of the sentence will be served on probation.
