Abigail Johnson loves to sing.

She also loves to help kids who, like her, have made frequent trips to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

The Greenwood 9-year-old was born with malrotation, which means her digestive system was flipped around, and has made many trips to the Indianapolis hospital for treatment, her father, Scott Johnson, said.

Now, she and her family are raising money for other children at the hospital by selling a Christmas CD that includes two songs Abigail Johnson wrote, Scott Johnson said.

The family has raised money for the hospital every year at Christmas since Abigail Johnson was a baby, and this year is the second time they will sell a CD for donations, Scott Johnson said.

The CD is dedicated to Franklin Township student Maddy Justice, who is battling acute myeloid leukemia at Riley.

Last year, Abigail Johnson raised more than $10,000 for the hospital’s music therapy division by selling her first CD, Scott Johnson said.

She will sell her CD this year, “Smile & Believe Volume 2: A Riley Christmas CD,” at the Colts game Sunday between sections 129 and 132 in Lucas Oil Stadium.

Cost is $10. The CD also can be purchased at JL Johnson Fine Jewelers in Greenwood and Teddy’s Burger Joint on  Southport Road, and online at www.wepay.com/stores/smile-believe-volume2-a-riley-christmas-cd.
